there's no place like home

I wanted to drop by to let you know that I am still alive! I think that I am going through that post vacation depression that always comes out when one gets home and reality sets in.

but

It is good to be home.

home
I took this photo of an original pair of Dorothy's shoes (on my iphone, so it's a little grainy) at the Smithsonian Museum of American History.

I love Christmas...all of it. Food, family, decorations, tree smell, my Snow Village, fires, blankets, hot cocoa, Santa, sweaters, presents (hey! at least I'm honest!!). I love it all.

Until yesterday, I just wasn't ready for Christmas this year. I'm not sure why, but it wasn't until I switched my ringtone from "The Thanksgiving Song" to "Santa Baby," put my tree up, lugged out all of my decorations that need to be put up, hung a wreath or two, and snuggled up on the couch that I started to feel in the spirit.

In fact, I think I might to listen to the Jingle Cats right now.
(nothing makes me laugh uncontrollably like a little Jingle Cats-I used to call into KEARTH {what we pumped through the office and on hold} and request their rendition of Jingle Bells all the time...everyone HATED me.)

So thanks everyone for putting up with my previously humbug-gy behavior!

I feel like I haven't done an outfit post in ages...I've been taking out my general grumpiness out on my clothes and have lived in sweaters, jeans, hoodies, and tennies all week. Next week, I'll dress better which means I'll feel better (see how that works?).

Speaking of fashion, I was interviewed by the fabulous Onada of Onada's Lookbook! Check out the interview here and see her interviews of some of my favorite bloggers here. While you are surfing around checking Onada out, please be sure to also visit her store, The White Dress Shop, and check out her amazing inventory!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Ugh, I hate the post-vacation depression...especially during winter, it makes it that much more difficult!
I am LOVING those red slippers... Dorothy started my love of shoes from a very, very young age =)
I'm glad you're getting into a more holiday-ish spirit though...those Jingle Cats are per-fect for curing the winter blues!
Hope everything else is going well, girl! I've missed you!

I think you should take one picture of your grumpy outfit, just for the novelty of it.

I'm right there with you. It just doesn't seem like Christmas should be this close yet! What happened to November! Yikes! Although I did get some shopping done yesterday so that is a relief.

I have to be surrounded by Christmas to get into the Christmas spirit. So once the Tiffany christmas tree went up at University and I went to my first Christmas dinner...it all came rushing back. I'm rather excited now :) Hope you're having a beautiful day.
