I'm alive!

I had a heck of a weekend! Thursday evening, I went with a group of girls to see a midnight showing of New Moon. It was so much better than Twilight (the movie, I didn't love New Moon the book, I think largely due to Edward's absence). Would you love or even like this movie if you hadn't read, or disliked the series? Probably not, though there was plenty of eye candy and the wolves looked super cool.

i'm a nerd
yes, I wore this Thursday night...I must admit that I had a cardi buttoned up while I ate dinner to avoid embarrassment!

By Friday evening, I had a serious case of stomach flu. Not fun.

Yesterday was spent in recovery mode. I was also in super clean mode because the fam is coming over for Thanksgiving. It is going to be quite small, unfortunately. I think that I am going to set the table with a really casual feel...I'll be sure to share photos!

Last week, I found myself eating 3 meals inspired by other bloggers! SEE how important you guys are in my life?!! I wanted to give you a little glimpse. (if you follow me on twitter, you have probably seen all of these photos...sorry!)

diana's sando
Diana somehow managed to improve on a sandwich I eat several times per week! The addition of cinnamon was genius!

Gabby's Pasta
This has to be the 3rd or 4th time that I have made Gabby's pasta...my favorite add in is asparagus!

Lu's peppers
Mart and Lu's (they both get credit on this one) stuffed red peppers were perfect when I had a few that needed to be used...easy and delicious!

Have a great (short for us in the US...yay!) week everyone...I have much to catch up on after a mostly computer free weekend!

new moon was my least fave in the series...not enough edward like you said, too much repetition... but i loved the movie! though i grew to love the twilight movie, it really disappointed me. it could have been so much more. i wanted more build up to the love story and definitely more cullen time! but maybe since twilight was my favorite book, i am too harsh on the adaptation.

my new moon weekend was so much fun though! love your shirt!

I agree with your opinion of the movie, vs. the first one. It felt like the difference between a student film and a big budget film. haha. And I also liked it a lot better than the New Moon book. I'm probably going to see it again tonight, with my Mother.

Cool... Hmmm, I don't know how I feel about the New Moon but I know everyone around me likes it. lol!

That sandwich looks interesting but one thing I am learning and that is cinnamon makes a lot of things better. I use it in oatmeal and it tastes so good!

I hope all is well.

i love the tshirt!!! a hahahha! so funny, and SO TRUE! OH EDWARD! and i never think folks will "get" the twilight movies unless they have read the books! i saw new moon on sunday, and a row of gay guys were seated in front of me. they did not squeal as often as i did. but they murmured a lot. :)

and all these food pics are looking mighty tasty!

and the stomach flu?!?! ew. i hate that! and hope you are feeling all better by now!

Sorry you had the bug hon, hope you're all better now!

Love stuffed peppers. I do it with ground turkey to get S to eat extra healthy (he doesn't oblidge all that often). That pasta looks amazing. I should stop saying that and just make the darn thing.

Still gotta see the movie...maybe next week once the crowds have died down.

oh dear...I'm so sorry that you weren't feeling well:( glad you're better though!
I went on Friday at 11am with a girlfriend and it was great to see the movie with other adults (all 20 of us in the in the financial district theater we went to)...we chose it on purpose bc as people who work from home, we knew that there would be hardly anyone there during the work week. I loved it...it definitely was filmed so differently than twilight...what I like about twilight is how moody it is...all those dark shadows and the blue tone. You really feel like you're in wet Forks. You really feel how ominous the situation can be to be in love with a vampire. But this one was so bright...I guess it was meant to be warmer like Jacob is for Bella when she's so depressed and love sick. I felt like that only once in my life (thank GOD) and I wish I had a jacob to pull me out of it a bit. overall I loved it though bc I feel like the characters were more true to the book than in the first one. I'm definitely going to go see it again but I'll be lucky if I can get the hubs to go:) I made him watch it on dvd once but that's all I was able to convince him of. xo
