I have been very busy and my poor blog is suffering! I hope to get back into the swing of things in the next few weeks, but until then Etsy Wednesday and blog visiting is unfortunately coming to a halt! I miss you guys! I will still try to throw up the occasional outfit post when I have the chance!

arrrrgyle

Sorry for the ridiculous title...I love pirate nonsense:)

Not a big fan of how this outfit photographed, but I did like it during the day. I wear stuff like this a lot...particularly the oxford shirt and sweater vest, though usually just with jeans. I know that it is an odd choice, but I always feel most attractive in this type of shirt! (I have a ton of them, they go with everything!)

I know that you guys have had Academy Award stuff crammed down your throat, but I have to mention my favorites! Sandra Bullock's Marchesa gown is the stuff dreams are made of. Robert Downey Jr. is perhaps the coolest man alive...blue bowtie, tennies, and blue tinted Oliver Peoples. Nailed it!

Have a great week everyone!

SRBC book review - Half Broke Horses

Slow_Readers_Book_Club

As I first announced here, I am a proud member of the Slow Readers Book Club. This is my review of our first book, Half Broke Horses by Jeannette Walls.

I couldn't possibly think of a better introductory book for the Slow Readers Book Club as Half Broke Horses. I would not have picked it up on my own and it was wonderful. These are the two ingredients that had me so excited to be a part of the club in the first place!

Walls takes you on a journey through life in the "old west," as narrated by her grandmother Lily. Within the first few pages, I had taken to the clever and unbelievably tenacious girl. As she grows into a woman, I found myself completely in awe of her strength and perseverance. Lily's life is full of twists and turns and hardships that are difficult to imagine...and through it all, I fell completely in love with this empowered woman and did not want the book to end!

The writing is honest and I actually had fun reading it (don't get me wrong, it is not all sugar coated, it is very "real"). I devoured this book and can tell you that The Glass Castle (also by Jeannette Walls) will be one of the next books that I read!

Be sure to check out the Slow Readers Book Club forum, we are in the process of choosing our next book!

Hope you have a great week!

I was starting to pack for Vegas last night when I saw this romper in my closet. I love it, but have only worn it once and was trying to think about how to wear it in cold weather. I remembered Maegan "winterizing" her romper here, which is funny because she said that my comment motivated her to wear it that way haha....the tangled web of personal style blogs. It's a good thing that I had these shorts on as opposed to a dress though, it is quite windy!

So last weekend was super fun! I hung out with Diana, Carly, Liz, Kathleen, and Gabby! I was also able to explore Disney's California Adventure with Diana and Carly...so cool!

mickey's wheel of terror!
see what happens when i ride this scary thing here!

I'm very busy and am way behind on all of your blogs. I'm so sorry!! This will most likely be my only post this week, but expect many a Vegas story come Monday!

Hope you're having a good Wednesday!

My battery died a few photos in, so I'm stuck with this awkward orb by my head. Yesterday, I had a heckova day, so I thought that I would dress fairly comfortable today (well, as comfortable as one can be in 4" heels). This tee shirt from Forever 21, is like my favorite item of clothing that I have. It is so perfectly soft and slouchy. I immediately went back after I first wore it and bought two more.

How is your week going? Tomorrow is Friday which means I'm a happy girl!

Just a little reminder...
There are a few days left for you to enter to win a $200 visa gift card, simply by telling me your favorite type of pizza. Just click here.
